Shrub Madness Is Coming

Move over, basketball. March belongs to gardeners.
It's back! For the second year, we're celebrating the start of spring with Shrub Madness, the only bracket competition that pits shrub vs. shrub in a no-holds-barred battle for horticultural glory and the title of National Champion! Let's Dance® Diva! hydrangea took it last year. Will it do it again, or will it be one of the 63 other plant players? You decide.

A couple of changes for this year, including a new website, www.shrubmadness.com; an easier-to-use voting interface; and the ability to fill out your bracket online beginning February 23rd.  In the meantime, you can download a printable bracket and start making your predictions now. This minute. What are you waiting for? Oh, I know, your chance to win...

Garden Writers Contest
Of course there is a Shrub Madness side-contest just for garden writers! Whoever has the closest, most accurate bracket will win landscape-ready Floral Four plants, the final four shrubs in the competition. To enter, fill out your entire bracket and send it to me by mail (12601 120th Ave. Grand Haven, MI 49417) or e-mail (shannon at springmeadownursery dot com) by February 27th.

Good luck, garden writers!
